The MSP Business Model
Most MSPs operate on two different service platforms: break/fix and managed contracts. A break/fix platform is exactly what it sounds like: when a customer's computer breaks down, MSP dispatches a technician to fix the problem. Using this model, MSP will charge for equipment, along with an hourly fee for the services rendered. Managed contract platform, the customer will pay the MSP a set service fee every month to manage and monitor your network equipment, computers, and other devices to focus on the prevention of critical issues before they disrupt employees, management, and/or clients. If something breaks down, the MSP will come out and fix it, and no additional fee is charged because it's part of the contract.
